Exercised by Daniel E. Lieberman

It's weird to sit down and read a book about physical fitness.  I liked it.

You can live a successful life without much running, jumping, throwing, weight lifting, swimming, biking, playing sports, or other bodily workouts.  Our tree-swinging ape ancestors did not do that sort of thing.  Even when we lived dangerous lives hunting on the savanna, there were no bodybuilders or cross-fit champs.  These activities cost time and precious calories.  So, it is surprising that exercise yields so many benefits in our modern self-domesticated world.

Sharing his academic research while discussing variance and uncertainty instead of delivering a clean sales pitch is a strong indication that the author is at the forefront of the science.
