Civilized to Death by Christopher Ryan
6 out of 10

The stress of civilization weighs heavily on some people.  The affluent Christopher Ryan has his complaints.  It is worthwhile to think about the big wheels that humanity has unwittingly set in motion and the physical/emotional/spiritual/ecological tax paid for massive social structures.  However, I found the author's assumptions and conclusions to be weak.  It is ridiculous to think that ALL prehistoric tribes lived healthy happy lives.  Also, there is a tremendous amount of diversity in the modern world regarding how people CHOOSE to live their lives.
