The Greeks spun up some elaborate myths.  Legendary heroes facing epic dilemmas blurred the line between mortals and gods.  Each retelling gave poets and playwrights opportunity to add more dynamicism.  This book does not do that.  There is no need to amend rich and compelling characters such as Helen, Medusa, Eurydice, Jocasta, Penelope, and many other women of lore.
