Hoop Atlas by Kirk Goldsberry
9.5 out of 10

The NBA has evolved significantly over the past 30 years.  There have been a few rule changes, some noticeable trends in style, a couple of cyclical coaching strategies, globalized scouting and fandom, an increased number of players being traded, and several game-changing players who inspired imitation and forced the rest of the league to adapt.
  • Jordan's jump shot and overall athleticism
  • Bowen's corner 3
  • Nowitzki's one-legged fadeaway
  • Curry's sharp shooting from way downtown
  • Iverson's crossover
  • Ginóbili's eurostep
  • Lebron's powerful drive and versatility
  • Jokić's shuffle shot
Fantastic read from start to finish.  It is 272 pages of mostly continuous text with a few charts and diagrams.  This book's title and subtitle are pretty misleading.
