Archaeology from Space by Sarah Parcak
4.5 out of 10Nerd Alert! In reality, there are a lot of interesting things happening in the field of archaeology. Satellite imagery, infrared and ultraviolet analysis, machine learning, widespread collaboration, small drones, DNA sequencing, and even the potential for avatars on exoplanets. Compelling things such as Amazon relics, ancient Egyptian towns, and Viking expeditions are also being discovered. But what specifically can these new findings teach us? Not much here on that. It is a bummer that much of this book is a snooze fest about Parcak's personal activities, her love of fiction, and vague preservationist tropes.
