Bill Bryson is a magnificent author.  Here, he pens on a subject in which he has difficulty avoiding in other books of vastly wider scope: himself.  With splashes of imaginative recall, this memoir covers the plight of little Billy Bryson growing up in Des Moines, Iowa during the 1950's.  Fantastic read.
