Edible Economics by Ha-Joon Chang
8.5 out of 10

Very filling—though slightly bitter due to the author’s overuse of collectivist policy assertions.  Ha-Joon Chang packs this book with tasty nuggets.  For example:  Did you know that okra plays an important part in the United States becoming a superpower?  Did you know that British food is bland?  (Of course, you did.)  But, interestingly, the global gourmet scene in England is much richer than it is in France and Italy because the French and the Italians make efforts to protect their domestic dishes.  Much more good stuff throughout the book.
