In the midst of the glitter and sleaze of old Hollywood, the young bright-eyed name-changed Puerto Rican actress had a fairly non-standard perspective. Her long career and her undoubted success (EGOT) gave her much more perspective. It seems as if some of her off-screen dramas have been both a blessing and a curse.
