The Man From The Train by Bill James and Rachel McCarthy James
7.5 out of 10Woah. This is messed up. Between 1898 and 1912 an ax murderer killed about 100 people all across the USA. The murderer had a signature style of killing that can almost certainly tie him to murders in which innocent men were convicted. At the time, there was no FBI and none of the local detective agencies could gather enough information to even be aware of other similar murders. Now that we live in a digital world, small-town newspapers along with court and arrest records can be aggregated. Bill James and his daughter Rachel did just that--to the point of piecing together a massive amount of admissible facts and identifying the perp.
