Natural Causes by Barbara Ehrenreich
7 out of 10I like Ehrenreich's perspective--her love of science, plus her wisdom to balance fatalism and alarmism. Because this (mostly non-prescriptive) book hits on many topics (such as diet, exercise, autoimmunity, the idea of self, ancient deities, social fads, medical practices, medical malpractices, intimacy, and death), it is difficult to succinctly summarize. But, it all flows together nicely and makes for a worthwhile read.
